Former pro golfer Nick Faldo opened a second golf course in the Kingdom at Vattanac Golf Resort in Phnom Penh to compliment his internationally renowned Angkor Golf Resort course in Siem Reap.

The entire two-phase project includes two 18-hole world class golf courses at the resort located 15 km from the center of Phnom Penh near the Kandal border.

The seven kilometer long East course, the first phase, opened this year and the second phase will be completed before the end of the year.

Former pro golfer Nick Faldo met with Prime Minister Hun Sen before deciding to get on board with the project.

“It was an honor to meet with the Prime Minister Hun Sen and I thank him for his gracious welcome to the Kingdom of Cambodia,” said Faldo in a press release.

“We believe the Vattanac Golf Resort in Phnom Penh will compliment our existing championship course at Angkor Golf Resort in Siem Reap and further raise the standard of golf in Cambodia, attracting more visitors to the country from across the region,” he added.
